Biography
Swedish soprano Linnea Nordenback is currently a Young Artist at the Royal Danish Opera, where she will make her house debut in 2026 as Contessa di Ceprano in Rigoletto. In the summer of 2025, she performs La Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro on tour with Skånska Operan.
Linnea made her professional debut in 2023 as Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni at Malmö Opera. She has since returned to the company for productions of Puccini's Turandot and the touring opera Maskerad (The Follies of a Night), in which she appeared as Countess de Chartress. Other recent roles include La Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro at Lyric Opera Studio Weimar, and performances with Kammaropera Syd, Opera Warberg, and the Vadstena-Akademien.
In parallel with her operatic work, Linnea is an active concert and oratorio soloist. In 2024, she was selected to perform with the Malmö Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Anu Tali, with concerts at Malmö Live and Växjö Konserthus. She has performed major sacred works including Mozart's Requiem, Bach's Matthäus-Passion, and Vivaldi's Gloria. She recently debuted the song cycle Four Silent Songs by Natalie Schäfer in Helsingborg Konserthus which was commissioned by the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra.
She has collaborated with a wide range of conductors, including Tobias Ringborg, Jakob Hultberg, Fredrik Burstedt, Wolfgang Wengenroth, Daniel Carter, Anu Tali, Karsten Huschke, Joakim Hallin, Andreas Eriksson Hjort, Peter Spissky, and Daniel Hansson.
Linnea Nordenback graduated from Malmö Opera Academy in 2024, studying under Swedish soprano Gisela Stille. She also holds a degree from the soloist programme at the Malmö Academy of Music, where she was a student of Professor Britta Johansson. During her education, she performed Dido in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, Konstanze in Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail, and Kitty in Parainphernalia, a contemporary opera by Taja Astar. She also cultivated a strong interest in chamber music and art song, performing works such as Dominick Argento's Letters from Composers.
Her talent has been recognized with several prestigious scholarships, including awards from the Swedish Royal Academy of Music, Anders Sandrews Foundation, and John Andersson i Anderslöv. In 2023, she won the Audience Prize in the OVIS-rösten competition and was later awarded the Torsten Tegstam Scholarship by the OVIS jury, who praised her for "an expressive, well-balanced soprano voice with a warm and rich sound and beautiful high notes."
